When we attended DEMO Fall 2009 last month as one of the companies presenting on stage, I was impressed with all the cool apps being showcased that helped people do things better, faster, or in a more collaborative way.  There were tools that made your emails into a task manager, a social video chat service, and an application that lets you connect your various spreadsheets into an integrated model.  Good stuff…and I will probably try a few of these out myself.  How

After several years from when the idea first germinated, over a year of engineering sweat, months of marketing, website and business preparation, weeks of practicing and memorizing a script that would wow a sophisticated audience, we finally gave our "opening night" performance at DEMO09 today at 9:12 am in San Diego. For all of that sweat and inspiration, it all came down to 6 minutes, that flew by like the wind.

Nevada's encryption laws are what's garnering all the attention, but people forget that the breach notification law has significant application, especially with defining "personal information" and what to do when there is a breach. Nevada citizens and businesses that have clients residing in Nevada need to take stock of both.

We held a terrific webinar today on "How to Comply With the Latest Data Privacy & Security Regulations." What made it work were the expert panelists, Dave Cieslak of Arxis Technology and Ken McCall of Boomer Technology Group. Dave moderated and provided a sharp overview of security threats and vulnerabilities facing corporate IT. And Ken cautioned against using email for file transfer because it's unsecure and unencrypted and causes overwhelming load to email systems.
